The new project directed by Louis Leterrier, a horror movie titled 11817, is very close to having Greta Lee (Past Lives) and Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love) as main actors. The story follows a family of four which gets trapped in their own house by evil forces: as time goes by, they start to run out of food, water and other resources, while they keep having no clue about who – or what – is forcing them inside the luxurious house. The screenplay has been written by Mathew Robinson, while the company Rocket Science is fully financing the project. The foreign sales are going to start in a few days during the Cannes Film Festival, while CAA Media Finance is handling the American rights.
After the success of Past Lives by Celine Song (Academy Awards nominated as best picture and best original screenplay), Greta Lee is now filming Tron: Ares together with Gillian Anderson, Jared Leto, Evan Peters and Jeff Bridges, who in 1982 was the protagonist of the original Tron. After the excellent result of Bob Marley: One Love at the box office with almost 100 million dollars grossed in the United States, Kingsley Ben-Adir is one of the most acclaimed actors on the market.
In the past few yers he has shown his remarkable acting skills in One Night in Miami by Regina King, where he played the leader for the Civil Rights Movement Malcolm X. Last year he participated in a supporting role in Barbie by Greta Gerwig, the biggest movie of the year grossing almost 1.5 billion dollars all over the world. Both Greta Lee and Kingsley Ben-Adir had their breakthrough thanks to television, thanks to the TV series The Morning Show (Lee) and The OA (Ben-Adir)
11817 will not be the next movie by Louis Leterrier we’ll see on the big screen: the French filmmaker is in fact working on the next episode of the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X Part Two after directing the last Fast X. Among his box-office hits there are The Transporter starring Jason Statham, Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington and Now You See Me, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo and many other stars.
