With the award season approaching, moviegoers can also look forward to seeing many captivating horror films when the Halloween approaches, but one of the most anticipated movies of the year won’t be released until Christmas. However, this week brings some new glimpses of Robert Eggers‘ Nosferatu.
We will be shivering with anticipation for Robert Eggers’ long-awaited remake of the 1922 silent era classic Nosferatu. This twisted version of Dracula has been gradually emerging from the shadows as we get closer to its release date and with Halloween just around the corner.
Focus Features has done a very good job of hiding what the titular monster looks like. Whether or not that will be the case by the time December rolls around remains to be seen, but for now, we have three more high-quality images and a behind-the-scenes image that show off the atmosphere without spoiling any of the details. Now, the latest images of Nosferatu have set the stage for its terrifying landscape.
Horror fans are transported back to 19th century Germany in those new images provided by Bloody Disgusting.
The full moon guides a carriage to Dracula’s castle in the dead of night. An ill-fated man walks down an outside corridor on a similar evening. In the end, we see Eggers directing Lily-Rose Depp (Silent Night) in full period attire in a dreadful-looking graveyard. It is once again apparent that one of the main characters is absent from this set of images. That would be Bill Skarsgård’s Count Orlok/Nosferatu.

The original silent German film was a version of Bram Stoker’s famous novel that was not authorized. The name Nosferatu is used instead of Dracula, which translates to ‘Vampire’. The remake’s story revolves around a young woman (Depp) who is being threatened by a Transylvanian vampire, much like the novel’s and original film’s.
Along with Depp and Skarsgård, the film also stars Willem Dafoe (Shadow of the Vampire), Nicholas Hoult (Renfield), Emma Corrin (Deadpool & Wolverine), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (The Fall Guy), Simon McBurney and Ralph Ineson (The Witch).
Egger’s Nosferatu is biting into theaters on Christmas Day (December 25, 2024).
