Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for their upcoming 2025 film, Captain America: Brave New World at the D23 Brazil convention.
The project is the fourth installment in the ‘Captain America’ series and marks Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson’s first opportunity to take over the captaincy from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers.
The film also serves as a continuation of the television miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Harrison Ford is replacing William Hurt as Thunderbolt Ross in the movie, who is now the President of the United States.
Directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, the film also stars Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Shira Haas, Giancarlo Esposito and Harrison Ford. The roles of Marvel villain Samuel Sterns/Leader and Betty Ross are being reprised by Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler, 15 years after the theatrical debut of Edward Norton’s film.
Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to be released in cinemas Valentine’s Day 2025.
At the same D23 Brazil convention, Marvel Studios also has premiered a new trailer their Thunderbolts film ahead of the movie’s release as a next summer blockbuster film.
The clip commences with an extended glimpse of the scene in which Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier assaults a limo that transports several members of the team.
The film, which was shot in Atlanta, Utah, and New York earlier this year, focuses on the teaming up of some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s anti-heroes and villains for government missions.
The team includes Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. The film also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Geraldine Viswanathan as Valentina’s assistant, Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff and Lewis Pullman as Sentry.
The film is being directed by Jake Schreier, with a script from Joanna Calo, Lee Sung Jin, and Eric Pearson. Marvel’s Thunderbolts* is set for a May 2nd 2025 release.
