The first trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” opening in December is now available.
The novel ‘Dune Messiah’, which was written in 1969, will be the basis of the film. The new movie opens seventeen years later, with Paul Atreides (Chalamet) in charge of the throne, accompanied by his wife, Princess Irulan (Pugh), and maintaining a relationship with his concubine, Chani (Zendaya).
He is being plotted against by forces, including Bene Tleilax, an arcane and xenophobic genetic manipulation sect that trades in biological products. According to Villeneuve, the film will be more of a thriller and will also include more action than the previous two films.
The film stars Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Jason Momoa as a new version of Duncan Idaho, and Robert Pattinson as Scytale.
Chalamet and Villeneuve are completing their last venture into this universe with this project. While the project was mainly shot on 65mm film stock, it also features sequences shot in 15/70mm IMAX film.
“Dune: Part Three” is slated to release in cinemas on December 18th 2026.
