John Wick is a franchise that Lionsgate considers to be its most important and a crown jewel. The character has been portrayed by Keanu Reeves in four films since his introduction in 2014.
Now, the Lionsgate has dropped a new trailer for a highly anticipated female driven action flick, “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.”
Ana de Armas portrays a young female assassin who is trained in the Ruska Roma tradition and wants to seek revenge against the people who murdered her family. Besides Armas, the film also stars Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, the late Lance Reddick, David Castaneda, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves co-star.
The delay was necessary to make room for the filming of more action sequences and results, which Chad Stahelski, the franchise steerer, assisted in directing those sequences alongside Len Wiseman, the film’s director.
The film has been criticized by various reports, and the extra photography is aimed at enhancing the project, which is involving the main ‘John Wick’ team (unlike ‘The Continental’ series which did not).
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina will open in cinemas on June 6th 2025.
