The release date for “Godzilla Minus Zero,” which is sequel to Toho’s highly acclaimed and international-successful “Godzilla Minus One“, has been announced as November 6th 2026.
At Godzilla Fest in Japan, the title was announced, and the original film’s writer, director, and VFX whiz Takashi Yamazaki will be returning in their original capacities. Shirogumi, the company that handled the Oscar-winning visual effects in the first film, is back for this one.
In 2023, the sequel to “Shin Godzilla“, “Godzilla Minus One“, a live-action remake of “Shin Godzilla“, takes place in post-WW2 Japan where a new wave of disaster is unleashed by Godzilla, which takes place in devastated post-WW2 Japan.
Despite a $15 million budget, it generated $116 million, became the highest-grossing live-action film in Japan during 2023, was the third highest-grossing non-English-language film in the U.S. market, and was praised by both critics and audiences.
