‘Stranger Things’ Featurette Reveals First Footage of Final Season

Netflix has dropped a new featurette for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, which is currently in production.

The streamer notes on the video post that the new season has reached the halfway mark in production. Shooting for the project started at the beginning of the year and is expected to continue until the end of the year.

The video showcases the cast and crew on the show set, as well as glimpses of different sets that will be utilized and some scenes being recorded.

The actors reflected on their time on the show with Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, recounting, “I started when I was 10, I’m now turning 20 years old.” Noah Schnapp said, “It’s just so exciting, I think this is going to be the best season yet.” The final season is expected to finish filming around Christmas, currently just halfway done.

Netflix teased in social media post, “Take it all in, nerds…we’ve hit the halfway mark of filming the final season and wanted to give you all a look at what we’ve been up to.” In a recent interview, Maya Hawke said that the eight episodes of the season feel like eight “very long” films. She said, “Season 4 and season 5 are very connected.

The series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.

Also back are Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna and Amybeth McNulty as Vickie, while the cast will be joined by Terminator veteran Linda Hamilton.

Newly announced to be joining are Nell Fisher (Bookworm), newcomer Jake Connelly and Alex Breaux (Joe Pickett).

The series is created and executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, who also serve as showrunners. Executive producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Patterson.
