The Running Man” is based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel and depicts a future where a brutal game show forces contestants to run for their lives as they are pursued by a professional killer. Wright’s rendition of the story has already been adapted by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1980s, but it promises to be fresh and more faithful to King’s novel.

Glen Powell takes on the lead role of Ben Richards, a man who is in dire need of money to rescue his sick child and rescue his family from a miserable existence.

Here’s the synopsis : “Set in an oppressive future where the government controls the media, Ben Richards (starring Glen Powell) volunteers to participate in a deadly game show, which will see him hunted by professional killers over 30 days. Should he survive, he’ll win a cash prize that will help save his sick child and lift his family out of a horrid living situation.”

The film asl stars Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo.

Despite being 30 seconds long, this new behind-the-scenes video provides glimpses of the intense stunt work and high-energy atmosphere on set. Wright is responsible for both directing and co-writing the screenplay with Michael Bacall, his collaborator from “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”

The movie hits theaters on November 14, 2025, and marks Wright’s first feature since “Last Night in Soho in 2021.
