Toho Announced the Fifth Installment of Kingdom Live-Action Series to be Released in Summer 2026

Asian film fans, get ready to be super psyched, Toho announced the making of the fifth installment of one of most successful live-action film series, “Kingdom” which is scheduled to release in Japan in summer 2026.

Besides the announcement of a ‘super teaser’ is available in Japanese. The visual features actor Kento Yamazaki in full costume and makeup as Xin, one of the protagonists of the series.

Shueisha is distributing Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom manga in their Weekly Young Jump manga magazine. Starting in January 2006, the series has been distributed in Japan in 75 volumes so far. VIZ Media is planning to release an English version of the series, which is scheduled to start in November 2025. Shunsuke Sato was the director of the live-action Kingdom films, which began in 2019 and followed up with sequels in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Crunchyroll currently streams the Kingdom TV anime and describes the story:Xin and Piao are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Piao is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Xin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Piao—a boy who will one day become emperor!
