The first trailer for Disney’s live-action adaptation of its 1937 animated classic Snow White has finally been made available, after it was released in cinemas and good quality copies were leaked onto YouTube.
In this film, Rachel Ziegler plays Snow White, Gal Gadot plays the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap plays Jonathan, and they have seven companions who are not necessarily dwarfs, but rather ‘fantastical beings’ based on the press releases.
The original version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is considered to be Disney’s first major successful animated feature and started the studio’s lineup of fairytale animated films.
Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff, and Marc Webb from The Amazing Spider-Man, are producing and executive producing Disney’s Snow White, which is a live-action musical remake of the studio’s iconic 1937 film.
The new trailer showcases the scale and beauty of the lavish production design, the beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy, and a first look at the power ballad Waiting on a Wish, one of the all-new original songs from EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman).
The movie has faced some controversy over set photos, discussion of results, pandemic-related delays, and comments by its two stars regarding the movie and beyond.
Marc Webb directs from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson. La La Land” and The Greatest Showman pair Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are attached to write new songs. The new Snow White is set to hit cinemas on March 21st 2025.
