Apple TV+ has released the full-length trailer for Presumed Innocent for its upcoming limited series adaptation of the famous 1987 novel by Scott Turow, which will premiere on June 12th.
A shocking murder takes place that devastates the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when one of its own, Rozat ‘Rusty’ Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal), is charged with the murder and rape of his close colleague Carolyn Polhemus (Gyllenhaal).
In this film, Ruth Negga plays Barbara Sabich, who is an artist, gallerist, mother, and Rusty’s wife and whose life is turned upside down by the scandal and the highly publicized trial that follows it.
The story takes into account obsession, sexuality, politics, and the influence and limitations of love as the accused struggles to hold his family and marriage together. Per Apple’s description, this version of Turow’s story will explore “obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.”
