Netflix’s “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” is about to have its most dangerous case yet as Benoit Blanc returns to solve it. Wake Up Dead Man is a continuation of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out franchise.

The film will be shown in theaters on Nov. 26 and then on Netflix on Dec. 12 as part of a two-week theatrical run. The film will once again follow the refined detective Blanc (Daniel Craig) as he tackles a new perplexing case. Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) must team up with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to solve a mystery that defies all logic following a sudden murder that rocked the town.

SYNOPSIS: Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) returns for his most dangerous case yet in the third and darkest chapter of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery opus. When young priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) is sent to assist charismatic firebrand Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), it’s clear that all is not well in the pews. Wicks’s modest-but-devoted flock includes devout church lady Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), circumspect groundskeeper Samson Holt (Thomas Haden Church), tightly-wound lawyer Vera Draven, Esq. (Kerry Washington), aspiring politician Cy Draven (Daryl McCormack), town doctor Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), best-selling author Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), and concert cellist Simone Vivane (Cailee Spaeny).

After a sudden and seemingly impossible murder rocks the town, the lack of an obvious suspect prompts local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to join forces with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to unravel a mystery that defies all logic. Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Rian Johnson writes and directs Wake Up Dead Man

After the September TIFF premiere, Craig reflected on being part of the trilogy and described it as a ‘constant surprise.’ Additionally, he remembered Johnson’s initial script for ‘Knives Out.’ He stated to Variety that we made it without any ambition. ‘Just let’s make the best movie we can’ and it turned into something, and then we’re now here.’

Craig reiterated that he is willing to revisit his character and uncover more mysteries in the future. “These movies must be done at a very high level, otherwise there is no point in doing them,” he stated. “So long as they are doing that, we will continue doing them.”
