Daniel Day-Lewis is back in the acting fold with the first trailer of his father-son indie drama “Anemone.”
The first trailer for “Anemone,” a family drama directed and co-written by his son Ronan Day-Lewis, is giving viewers a chance to see the three-time Oscar winner’s big return to acting.
Daniel Day-Lewis is returning to acting after eight years and co-stars with Sean Bean, Samuel Bottomley, Safia Oakley-Green, and Samantha Morton in the film. According to the official logline, Bean, who is middle-aged and lives in Northern England, begins his journey into the woods, where he reconnects with his estranged hermit brother (Day-Lewis).
Their relationship is often strained and fraught, but they are bonded by a mysterious and complicated past that was forever altered by shattering events decades earlier.
Before retiring, Daniel Day-Lewis appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2017 period drama ‘Phantom Thread’, which garnered him his sixth Oscar nomination for best actor. He previously won in the category for his performances in 1989’s “My Left Foot,” 2007’ s “There Will Be Blood” and 2012’s “Lincoln.” Day-Lewis, considered one of the finest best actors in the world.
