Jonathan Glazer’s feature length film output is limited, but each of his releases show the love and dedication that he and his crew puts into each film. His latest and most impactful film to date, The Zone of Interest has quite the unique setting that demanded the most delicate handling.
We spoke with cinematographer Łukasz Żal about what went into bringing the estate that ran the Auschwitz prison camp back to life in the most peculiar of ways. The balance of the lives on both sides of the home’s garden fence could only be handled by such thoughtful minds.
Synopsis : The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
