The identity and potential of new AI and technology is largely linked to how well it adapts to and supports humanity’s ever-evolving journey. Love Me, the new groundbreaking first feature from sister and brother filmmaking duo Sam and Andy Zuchero, explores the lasting effects of AI through an epic tale of connection and transformation.
Set long after humanity’s extinction, Love Me follows a buoy (Kristen Stewart) and a satellite (Steven Yeun) as they inherit the Earth. With only the internet as their guide, they learn what it means to be alive and in love.
Sam and Andy Zuchero, who wrote and directed Love Me together, generously took the time earlier this month to talk about making the drama during in an exclusive interview over Zoom. Among other things, the up-and-coming filmmakers discussed why they were inspired to scribe and helm a thought-provoking, romance-inspired sci-fi movie as their first feature film. They also discussed how the story explores AI and identity through live-action, animatronics and classic animation in an epic tale of connection and transformation.
