Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” Revealed an Explosive New Poster

The summer movie season has finally arrived, Universal Pictures has released a new  poster for a highly anticipated Christopher Nolan’s film, “Oppenheimer” which is the biographical drama that is slated to arrive in theaters on July 21.

The star-studded film highlights Cillian Murphy(“A Quiet Place Part II“) in a fiery blaze as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American physicist whose contributions to the Manhattan Project led to the creation of the atomic bomb, and disaster in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The poster teased the dreadful creation has arrived and represented a new age of the world.

Nolan, who is best known for critically acclaimed films such as “The Dark Knight” trilogy and “Inception,” this time, he’s taking a first stabs at Universal since Leaving Warner Bros. after the release of “Tenet.”The film is based on the book, “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. Nolan, his wife Emma Thomas, and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven are producing the film. 

The official synopsis reads: “The film follows the life of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Manhattan Project in World War II, and his contributions that led to the creation of the atomic bomb.”

Besides Murphy, the film boasts an incredible cast including Emily Blunt as Oppenheimer’s wife Kitty, Matt Damon as Manhattan Project director General Leslie Groves Jr., Robert Downey Jr. as founding commissioner of U.S. Atomic Energy Commission Lewis Strauss, and Florence Pugh as the psychiatrist Jean Tatlock.

The ensemble also features Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Hartnett, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Dane DeHaan, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich, and Matthew Modine.

The summer blockbuster was shot with IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film photography. For the first time, Oppenheimer will include sections in IMAX black and white analog photography.

It remains a mystery for now how Nolan approached this controversial subject matter, it’s only two month away, it won’t be long before audiences could experience a cinematic event from the beloved filmmaker.
