The 80th Golden Globes Awards were presented Tuesday in Los Angeles, after a night full of weirdness and some genuine surprises.
Steven Spielberg’s “The Fablemans” and Martin McDonagh’s “The Banshees of Inisherin” took the best film honors among others, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” nabbed multiple awards. Other winners included some expected honors like “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” winning best animation, and acting award went to Austin Butler for “Elvis,” Cate Blanchett for “Tár” and Angela Bassett for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
On the TV side “The White Lotus” took best comedy and Jennifer Coolidge won a best actress award that led to the best speech of the night which had the room laughing and Mike White in tears. “Abbott Elementary” was a huge winner with Best Series – Comedy/Musical along with two acting awards, whilst other honors went to “Ozark,” “Black Bird,” “The Dropout,” “The Bear,” “Euphoria” and “Monster”.
