“Wicked” and “Jurassic World: Rebirth” actor Jonathan Bailey is now collaborating with Natalie Portman on the sports psychological thriller “Pumping Black“.

The story revolves around the competitive and fierce world of professional cycling and follows cyclist Taylor Mace (Bailey), who is approaching the end of his career at 35 years old.

Andrea Lathe (Portman), a doctor who wants to win and dominate, takes him under her wing. Taylor must take more drastic measures to safeguard his secret as the Tour de France race progresses.

According to reports, the movie follows the style of “Black Swan” and “Whiplash,” and is described as an ‘adrenaline-fueled, dangerous thriller’.

Mimi Cave, who was responsible for the direction of 2022’s “Fresh” and 202’s “Holland” with Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan, will be in charge of the movie based on a script by Haley Hope Bartels.

Stacey Sher, Sébastien Raybaud, Portman, and Sophie Mas are all members of the film production team, which will shoot it in the fall. Anton is backing the project and initiating sales for it at Cannes.

Bailey, who was crowned the 2025’s Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine, is a passionate cyclist who has participated in marathons and triathlons for a long time, all in the name of good causes.
