NEON and Universal Pictures International have unveiled the trailer and poster of “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert,” Baz Luhrmann’s new documentary film that chronicles the singer’s concert.
The Toronto International Film Festival gave the project rave reviews and it has been dubbed’ more than a documentary or a concert film’. I had a chance to see it last night, some of the songs that he sung were electrifying such as The Beatles’ “Yesterday” or Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve lost That Lovin’ Feelin’.”
Warner Bros. had unreleased footage taken during the production of the 1970s documentary films ‘Elvis: That’s the Way It Is’ and ‘Elvis on Tour’, as well as footage of Elvis’ 1957 performance in Hawaii.
Luhrmann’s team spent two years restoring and syncing it to existing audio sources, which included a 45-minute audio recording that Presley discovered when talking about his life story that’s personal.
Scenes from Elvis’ Las Vegas residency during the early 1970s were featured in the trailer that Jonathan Redmond edited.
The film’s Australian premiere will be held at the AACTA Festival on Saturday, February 7th, and it will then be released in Australia on February 19th and in the United States on February 20th.
