Warner Bros. Pictures has dropped a new trailer for “Magnolia” and “There Will Be Blood” director Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest outing, “One Battle After Another”.

The film, which has a budget of over $130 million, and filled with star-studded cast Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Shayna McHayle, and Alana Haim.

The project is based on a modern-day adaption of Thomas Pynchon’s ‘Vineland’, which was set in Northern California in 1984 and centered on the ramifications of the 60s hippie movement in the era of Reaganomics.

The plot for the film adaptation is still unknown, but the trailer indicates that DiCaprio is playing Bob Ferguson, a wacky, mutilated revolutionary who’s attempting to save his daughter. The story begins with Bob, wearing a beanie and bathrobe, using a pay phone to seek aid from unknown rebel allies, but failing to remember which codewords to use. Del Toro plays Bob’s sensei and teaches him how to live without fear, while also pushing him out of a speeding car. The trailer ends with DiCaprio screaming out ‘Viva la revolución’ and he and Del Toro prepare to wage war against their enemies.

The film will be released on September 26th with a possible Fall film festival run followed by a theatrical release that will have an IMAX component.
