Amazon MGM Studios has shared a second trailer of its live-action comedy “The Sheep Detectives“, which will be directed by Kyle Balda, who is a former “Minions” veteran.
The movie is a remake of Leonie Swann’s 2005 award-winning novel ‘Glennkill’ and follows Jackman’s shepherd George Hardy, who spends his nights reading his flock mystery stories, hoping they won’t understand. George is unaware that his sheep are not just intelligent, but also self-aware and able to speak.
Upon George’s sudden death, his flock recognizes that someone had murdered him and tries to solve his crime by leaving their meadow in search of justice. they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime solvers by following clues and investigating human suspects.
The cast includes a mix of live-action and voice talent, including Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Rhys Darby.
“The Last of Us” showrunner Craig Mazin pens this adaptation of Swann’s novel for the big screen while Lindsay Doran, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produce, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller executive produce.
“The Sheep Detectives” opens in cinemas on May 8th.
