December 19th will mark the release of “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” the third film in the franchise. The movie’s main focus will be on a battle with the ‘Ash People,’ a more treacherous Na’vi tribe that Sully, Neytiri, and the Metkayina, the water clan from The Way of Water, must fight in their larger battle over Pandora with the colonizing forces of the Resources Development Administration.

Sam Worthington and Zoe Salda recur as Sully and Neytiri in the sequel, while others who will be back include Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Jack Champion, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, and Kate Winslet.

Due to Cameron filming Fire and Ash back-to-back with “The Way of Water,” there was a three-year gap between the sequels, just like there was a 13-year gap between the original “Avatar” and “The Way of Water.” Two additional Avatar films are being produced, with the fourth one expected to come out in 2029 and the fifth in 2031
