The Oscar winning writer from “Promising Young Woman,” director Emerald Fennell’s highly anticipated sophomore attempt, “Saltburn” will open the 67th BFI London Film Festival in October.
The film is written and directed by Fennell who teamed up again with Margot Robbie to produce the film as well as Josey McNamara (“Promising Young Woman,” “Barbie”).
The project, which stars Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi and The Banshees of Inisherin‘s Barry Keoghan, is set to arrive in theaters on November 24, 2023.
Sunburn will tell the story of a beautifully wicked tale of privilege and desire. Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be.
The two “Saltburn“ new images, released today, give us our first look at the “Saltburn estate and all of its excessive and bucolic glory.
The film is the long-awaited follow-up project for Fennell, whose 2020 film “Promising Young Woman” has captured an essence of for its subversive commentary on trauma and sexual violence against women. She won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the project.
Cast also include, Rosamund Pike, Richard E.
Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, and Carey Mulligan.
