Never Let Go is a spectacularly eerie high-concept horror film that puts Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry in a remote cabin in the woods with her young, twin sons (Anthony B. Jenkins, Percy Daggs IV), all of them attached to the house by rope to prevent an evil presence from possessing them. At least that’s the plan, but we meet them as various circumstances are making it harder to keep the evil at bay.
It’s the latest horror film from French filmmaker Alexandre Aja (High Tension, Crawl), who brings his usual sense of gore and scares to a film that’s as much about the dramatic family dynamics between the three actors.
Cinema Daily US spoke with Monsieur Aja for an interview where we spoke about how he got involved in the project, how he found the two young actors to play Berry’s son, and how the outdoor location was created for optimum eeriness.
