Rapunzel embarks on an adventure with a charming thief (Zachary Levi). Along the way, she discovers her true identity and face the dangerous truth about the woman (Donna Murphy) who kept her captive.

The musica; grossed over $590 million worldwide. Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater crafted the music for the movie, which was nominated for an Academy Award for its original song, I See the Light.

After the animated musical’s release, it was followed by Tangled Ever After, a short that played before the 3D theatrical re-release of Beauty and the Beast and on Disney Channel. The movie was also followed by the Disney Channel animated series Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. In the years following the comedy’s release, Disney considered making an animated sequel, but ultimately never made the follow-up.
