Amazon MGM studio has dropped a new trailer for “Lee Soo-Man: King Of K-Pop,” a documentary about Lee Soo Man, who is considered the King of K-Pop. The documentary chronicles Lee’s journey, the ups and downs he experienced, and the way he formed some of K-pop’s biggest groups until his departure from the company in 2022.

The documentary captures our attention by taking us behind the scenes of idol life; unveiling behind-the-scenes stories, what takes place in recording studios, dance practices, the creation of songs and music videos, and everything else that contributed to K-pop’s worldwide dominance.

The trailer starts with a statement that ‘America took 100 years to become world-renowned in pop, but Korea achieved the same feats in just 20 years, opening a doorway into an industry that has captivated many.’ SHINee’s Jonghyun, who tragically died in December 2017 after battling depression, is featured in the trailer as a controversial clip. A significant backlash has been caused by this moment. Lee Soo Man was accused by many fans of exploiting a deeply painful and personal tragedy, and this inclusion immediately sparked outrage online.

SM Entertainment has been the force behind K-pop artists and groups like BoA, Girls’ Generation, EXO, and the latest sensation, Aespa. The film is Directed by Ting Poo qnd Produced By Jenny Turner, Jane Cha Cutler, Ting Poo, R.J. Cutler, Trevor Smith, Elise Pearlstein, Teddy Zee.
