Due to scheduling conflicts, Cosmo Jarvis has been forced to drop out of the cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, “The Odyssey”. Instead, Jarvis will be starring in “Young Stalin”, a biopic about the Soviet dictator. The acclaimed actor is busy with other projects, including appearances in Guy Ritchie’s “Wife & Dog” as well as the second season of “Shogun”.

Reportedly, Jarvis’s role in “The Odyssey” will be filled by Logan Marshall-Green, who recently starred in “Prometheus” and “The Defeated”.

“The Odyssey” is Christopher Nolan’s eagerly anticipated followup to Oppenheimer, the 2023 biopic that was such a critical and financial success in its depiction of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the so-called “Father of the A-Bomb.”

Based on the epic poem by the ancient Greek author Homer, “The Odyssey” is scheduled to be released by on Imax on July 17, 2026. To be shot on locations in Morocco, Italy, Ireland, and Scotland, it narrates the story of Odysseus as he returns home after the Trojan War. Though he was victorious, he incurred the wrath of the gods and endured confrontations by malevolent figures such as the Cyclops, the nymph Calypso, and the witch-goddess Circe.

Logan Marshall-Green just wrapped production for Eli Rivera’s “Killing Castro”, a biopic about the 1960 visit of Fidel Castro to New York at the invitation of Malcolm X. Marshall-Green also stars in “Titan”, an upcoming action thriller directed by Mike P. Nelson. Over the years, the actor has also starred in “Spider-Man:Homecoming” as well as “Carry-On”, an action film for Netflix. He also plays a role in the third season of “And Just Like That…”, a sequel to HBO’s “Sex and the City”.

Last weekend, a teaser attached to “Jurassic World: Rebirth” provided a sneak peek at what lies in store for Odysseus, depicted amidst the wreckage of his ship.
