Julia Roberts plays a a professor involved in a #MeToo controversy in the movie trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming psychological thriller ‘After the Hunt’. In addition to Andrew Garfield and ‘The Bear’ breakout Ayo Edebiri, the film has Guadagnino regulars Michael Stuhlbarg and Chlo Sevigny as supporting characters. Nora Garrett wrote the screenplay.

After the Hunt is about a college professor (Roberts) who is confronted with a personal and professional dilemma when a star student (Edebiri) accuses one of her colleagues (Garfield) and threatens to disclose a dark secret from her past, as stated in its synopsis.

Hank, Garfield’s character, opens the tense trailer by criticizing Gen Z for their fear of offending anyone. “When did offending someone become the most significant cardinal sin?” he asks. “Maybe it’s around the same time your generation started making sweeping generalizations about ours?” Edebiri’s Maggie fires back.

The trailer indicates that Hank and Maggie have different passions for Roberts’ professor, but things take a turn when Maggie arrives at her door in a shabby state. Roberts’ character is informed by her that Hank has sexually assaulted her, but he asserts that she has been cheating in class.

After the Hunt” was produced by Guadagnino, Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum. Executive producers include Garrett, Karen Lunder, Justin Wilkes and Alice Dawson.
