Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for “Scary Movie 6“, and it’s being placed perfectly in the theaters: it’s playing before “Scream 7“.
Marlon and Shawn Wayans’ project trailer includes a number of familiar faces from the earlier films, with Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who appeared in the first four installments, rejoining Marlon and Shawn Wayans.
Despite the widespread naming of the project as Scary Movie 6, the official title was revealed today as simply Scary Movie. It makes sense since the new Scary Movie is the first in 13 years, which gives the latest entry plenty of new material to mock.
The trailer offers spoof versions of Get Out, Megan, Wednesday, and the Scream franchise – which served as inspiration for the first movie.
Besides, Marlon & Shawn Wayans, and Anna Faris, Regina Hall, the film also stars Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Dave Sheridan, Heidi Gardner, Lochlyn Munro, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park.
“Scary Movie” is directed by Michael Tiddes and written by Marlon, Shawn and Keenen Ivory Wayans, along with Rick Alvarez.
The first “Scary Movie“ dropped in 2000 and was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans. Several sequels quickly followed. After a seven-year break, the release of the widely derided “Scary Movie 5“ effectively killed the franchise for more than a decade.
