NEON has showcased the official trailer for Cristian Mungiu‘s anticipated legal drama “Fjord“, featuring Sebastian Stan, a MCU veteran, alongside Renate Reinsve, known from “Backrooms“.

The film, which won the top Palme d’Or prize at Cannes, is based on the true story of the Bodnariu family, whose children were taken away against their will by Norwegian authorities.

It belongs to the conservative Gheorghiu family, which includes a Romanian father, a Norwegian mother, and their children.

Following the bruise found on their eldest daughter upon her arrival at school, the couple now faces scrutiny, with townspeople and authorities expressing concern about suspected mistreatment of their children.

There, the couple is under scrutiny now that their eldest child brings home a mark upon entering school, prompting worry from the community and authorities regarding possible abuse of their offspring.

Mungiu penned and also co-produced the film, which opens in cinemas October 9th.
