Australian pop star Kylie Minogue was nearly featured in the upcoming “Street Fighter” movie, as one of its actors, musician Orville Peck, revealed.

Three decades ago, in the 1994 film adaptation, a young Minogue played Cammy, a role that also featured Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia, and Ming Na.

Peck, who previously worked with Minogue and still maintains a friendship with her, portrays Vega in the latest version, which debuted in cinemas on Friday.

While chatting with Queerty about the film, he disclosed his attempt to get Minogue to do a cameo appearance, though scheduling conflicts thwarted that plan: “They were trying to get Kylie to do a cameo in our “Street Fighter“. They were having a hard time getting ahold of her or whatever, and I was like, ‘Guys, I can text her.’

So, I was trying to orchestrate this whole thing, and it didn’t work out with timing. She was gonna be so down to do it. But of course, I immediately told Kylie when I got cast. She told me how filming their “Street Fighter” was one of the most fun experiences of her life, and she was like, ‘I’m so excited for you to get to do that.’”

He adds that he’s “still trying to orchestrate” a meeting between Minogue.
