Hulu’s new limited series The Dropout dramatizes an incredible real-life scandal, one that saw young entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried) pitch a revolutionary new technology that could run hundreds of tests from just one drop of blood. The problem was that it didn’t work, which didn’t stop Elizabeth and her partner Sunny Balwani (Naveen Andrews) from pushing forward to implement it.
Among the extremely talented ensemble is actress Michaela Watkins, who has extensive television experience on shows like Casual, The Unicorn, and Transparent. Watkins plays Linda Tanner, the in-house counsel for Theranos who helps to serve the business interests of the company.
I had the chance to speak with Watkins about the process of learning all about Theranos and the incredible talent she got to work with in the cast.
