Back in the ’80s, Joshua John Miller was known as a child actor from movies like Kathryn Bigelow’s Near Dark and River’s Edge, but his father, Jason Miller, was also an actor, playing Father Karras in William Friedkin’s horror classic, The Exorcist, and the young Joshua heard lots of stories about that shoot.
Miller has reteamed with his writing (and life) partner M.A. Fortin for The Exorcism, a horror movie starring Russell Crowe as washed-up actor, Anthony Miller, who has gotten a job playing a preacher in a horror movie about demonic possession called, The Georgetown Project. As Anthony tries to mend things with his estranged daughter Lee (Ryan Simpkins from the Fear Street movies), odd occurrences start happening on the set of the movie that mirror the supernatural events being depicted.
Cinema Daily US spoke with Miller and Fortin about the origins of The Exorcism, an interview you can watch in the video above, and you can also watch interviews with actors Ryan Simpkins and Adam Goldberg here.
