Francis Ford Coppola has added a suburban Atlanta location to his growing constellation of hostelries devoted to cinema arts. Under the brand of “The Family Coppola Hideaways,” the iconic director recently renovated a Days Inn in Peachtree City as the All-Movie Hotel, designed to serve the needs of filmmakers and their fans.
The 27-room hotel opened last summer, with a complete postproduction facility added this year. Coppola had spent time working there while making his 2024 epic Megalopolis. Memorabilia from that production have been incorporated into the hotel’s design, such as crockery and labels on audiovisual equipment.
Coppola’s excursion into the hospitality trade began in the early 1990s when he created the Blancaneaux Lodge in Belize, which his family had acquired a decade earlier. Since then, the director has developed similar properties in Argentina, Guatemala, and Italy.
The All-Movie Hotel is Coppola’s first such project in the United States and the first to be designed specifically for the use of filmmakers, though cinephiles are also welcome to stay there. The hotel is located less than ten miles from Trilith Studios (formerly Pinewood Atlanta Studios), where Megalopolis had been shot, as had been several Marvel and DC films such as Thunderbolts* and Superman.
For the benefit of working filmmakers, the All-Movie Hotel offers the use of a stage with a bluescreen as well as a group of soundproof editing suites. Accommodations include the luxurious Francis Ford Coppola Suite, which features a giant cinema screen and projector along with velvet upholstered directors’ chairs. In addition, there’s a Japanese-themed suite includes an original artwork by legendary director Akira Kurosawa together with correspondence between Kurosawa and Ingmar Bergman. The hotel is also furnished with souvenirs from Coppola’s legendary productions, such as the statue of a golden hawk from Megalopolis in the parking lot, pinball machines from The Godfather, and lobby carpeting from Apocalypse Now.
