Slumdog Millionaire and Intrusion actress Freida Pinto revealed on Wednesday’s edition of The Kelly Clarkson Show that she has married her longtime beau, photographer Cory Tran, and they are expecting their first child.
The New York Post said Clarkson asked Pinto on the air about how her wedding planning was going and Pinto exclaimed with a laugh: “Oh, excellent. We’re already married.”
Pinto, 37, said she and Tran, 34, wanted to exchange vows in a “magical” wedding in Big Sur with family and friends, but their plans were thwarted by the coronavirus pandemic, which halted travel and large gatherings for months.
“COVID happened and it’s still happening and we just realized we’d be planning this for the rest of our lives and never doing it,” Pinto explained, according to People.com. “So we decided one day to go to the Honda Center in Anaheim [California]. Honestly, I have to say if any of you have planned a wedding, you probably know this, I do not want stomach ulcers from planning my own wedding.”
“This was perfect,” Pinto added. “It was absolutely perfect. We got married and then we got to go home and take an afternoon nap.”
Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul — Pinto’s co-star from The Path — introduced Pinto and Tran and they started dating in 2017. The Hollywood Reporter said the couple got engaged in November 2019. Their baby is due to be born soon.
