“Booksmart” Alumini Kaitlyn Dever Got a “Ticket To Paradise” with Clooney And Roberts

Slated to be released on September 30, 2022, Universal’s new romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise has added Kaitlyn Dever to join a cast already headlined by George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

Dever, who starred in Booksmart and Them That Follow, will be playing the lovestruck daughter of two business execs who are determined to derail the younger woman’s romantic plans.

Dever is no stranger on the Universal backlot; she will make an appearance in the studio’s adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen. Her appearance in the Unbelievable series garnered her a Golden Globe nomination, and she is appearing with Michael Keaton in Hulu’s Dopesick series.

She made her professional debut in 2009 as a 13-year-old, starring as Gwen Johnson in An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong. Other film credits include Bad Teacher, Last Man Standing, and Justified.

Ticket to Paradise will be directed by Ol Parker of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again fame. Parker cowrote  the script for the new release with Daniel Pioski. The film will be produced in tandem with Working Title.
