EXTRACTION 2 | Official Trailer | Netflix : Starring Chris Hemsworth, Olga Kurylenko, Golshifteh Farahani

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming action sequel “Extraction 2,” the follow-up to its Chris Hemsworth-led action thriller which was released on April 2020, and reached 99 million households. It re-entered the Top 10 releases during the Fourth of July weekend, making the film the fourth most-watched streaming film of 2020, and became the one of the most streaming movies during the pandemic. 

In this sequel, Hemsworth will reprise his role of Australian black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake who miraculously survived the end of the first film and onto his next mission. Here he’s assigned to another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, and with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Joe Russo wrote the script for the sequel after penning the first film.

The Russo brothers share the producer credits with Hemsworth, Patrick Newall, Hargrave, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin. Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely and Jake Aust exec produce.

Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, whilst Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili co-star. Hargrave brings his stunt coordinator expertise after working on “Avengers: Endgame,” “Deadpool 2,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Suicide Squad,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Atomic Blonde” and “The Accountant.”

Like the first film, this will feature some long-take action sequences, On Sunday, Hemsworth teased fans about the upcoming film on Twitter, writing “A single shot oner that clocks in at 21 minutes…you heard that right. Prepare for the ride of your life!!”

The film premieres on the Netflix streaming service on June 16th.
