MARLOWE | Official Trailer | Starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, Danny Huston, Alan Cumming

Open Road Films has released a new trailer and poster for the noir crime thriller “Marlowe” starring Liam Neeson (in his 100th film) as author Raymond Chandler’s iconic detective character Philip Marlowe.

The story is based on author John Banville’s book “The Black-Eyed Blonde,” an original novel authorized by the Chandler estate. Set in late 1930s Bay City, a down-on-his-luck Marlowe is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress (Diane Kruger), daughter of a well-known movie star (Jessica Lange).

The disappearance is the first in a series of bewildering events, and soon Marlowe is embroiled in a deadly investigation and web of lies he’s determined to bring to light. Marlowe served as the main character in numerous films like “The Big Sleep” and “The Long Goodbye“. The trailer captures the engaging style and elegance of Chinatown energy as 1930s Old Hollywood comes to life.

The film also stars Danny Huston, Alan Cumming, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Daniela Melchior and Francois Arnaud, directed by Neil Jordan (“Riviera,” “The Crying Game”) from a script by William Monahan (“The Departed”). “Marlow” is set to hit cinemas on February 15th.

The drama is directed by Neil Jordan, who previously helmed the obsession thriller Greta, horror-thriller Byzantium, and investigative drama The Brave One. In an official statement, Jordan celebrated the opportunity to work with Neeson in such a symbolic project, as well as the rest of the cast he was able to bring together:

“It has been a privilege to work with Liam Neeson on the 100th film of his prolific career. Raymond Chandler’s Marlowe is a part he was destined to play. Seeing William Monahan’s script come to life through the work of our very talented cast—Diane Kruger, Jessica Lange, Alan Cumming, Danny Huston, Daniela Melchior, and more – was a joy from start to finish and we can’t wait to share the film with audiences on the big screen in February.”
