Unsung Hero – Official Trailer : Starring Joel Smallbone, Lucas Black, Kirrilee Berger

Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company have dropped a new trailer for KING & COUNTRY’s new movie Unsung Hero, a film that traces his family’s real-life move to the United States from Australia in the 1990s.

Based on a remarkable true story, Unsung Hero follows David Smallbone as he moves his family from Down Under to the States, searching for a brighter future after his successful music company collapses. With nothing more than their seven children, suitcases, and their love of music, David (for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives. Helen’s faith stands against all odds and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs. With their own dreams on hold, David and Helen begin to realize the musical prowess in their children, who would go on to become two of the most successful acts in Inspirational Music history: five-time GRAMMY Award®-winning artists for KING + COUNTRY and Rebecca St. James.

Joel, who has released five albums with for KING + COUNTRY, brings Unsung Hero to the big screen as a cowriter and co-director as well as its lead actor. He collaborated with Richard Ramsey for the screenplay as well as directing. Luke, 37, also serves as a producer on the film with Justin Tolley and Josh Walsh (Jesus Revolution).

In addition to Smallbone, the movie also stars Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson, Lucas Black, Candy Cameron Bure, Terry O’Quinn and Hillary Scott.

“It’s with great anticipation that we give you the official trailer for UNSUNG HERO! Experience the remarkable true story of family, miracles, and music, exclusively in theatres beginning April 26: starring for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone, playing his father David, and Daisy Betts as Helen.” The band shared on social media.

Unsung Hero will release in theaters nation wide on April 26, 2024 through the Lionsgate.
