It’s time to get back in the ring! MGM and United Artists Releasing have released a new trailer for the upcoming boxing sequel “Creed III” in which Adonis “Donnie” Creed played by Michael B. Jordan faces Damian “Dame” Anderson played by Jonathan Majors.
Jordan returns as Adonis “Donnie” Creed, son of Rocky Balboa’s rival, Apollo Creed. But the actor isn’t just throwing punches at Majors’ antagonist Damian “Dame” Anderson in the film, “Creed III” also marks Jordan’s directorial debut as well.
The film follows Adonis’ brutal fight with Drago, and after dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has been dominating the boxing world and thriving in both his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Jonathan Majors), resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he is eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face off between former friends is more than just a fight.
To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian – a fighter who has nothing to lose.
Jordan praised the performance of Majors and teased the impending showdown between the two rivals.
“Jonathan Majors is incredible.
Very, very blessed and lucky to have him be a part of this, this story. And for me as a director, just to have that running mate and have that scene partner you know, it made all the difference in the world,” said Jordan in a press conference for “Creed III. “
The film also stars Florian Munteanu returning as Viktor Drago and Phylicia Rashad as Creed’s mother, with Jordan directing from a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin, with a story by Ryan Coogler and the duo.
