“Oppenheimer” Has Unveiled An IMAX Featurette!

Universal Pictures has unveiled a brand new featurette for a highly anticipated film of this summer, “Oppenheimer” which is directed by a visionary auteur Christopher Nolan.

The new video is featuring a behind-the-scenes look at director Christopher Nolan using IMAX cameras to bring the story to life. The widescreen cameras create an image 10 times larger than that of regular 35MM film. As he explains about his use of the technology, “Oppenheimer’s story is one of the biggest stories imaginable. Our film tries to take you into his experience. And IMAX for me is a portal into a level of emotion that you can’t get with other formats.”

The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer,” by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

“Oppenheimer” features a star-studded ensemble led by Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, who’s known as the father of the Atomic Bomb. Joining him are Emily Blunt as Katherine Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves Jr., Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock, Josh Hartnett as Ernest Lawrence, Benny Safdie as Edward Teller, and Michael Angarano as Robert Serber.

Oppenheimer” will be distributed theatrically worldwide by Universal Pictures. Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing through their Syncopy banner, along with Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 21. Its current theatrical release date will see the film going directly up against Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie.
