In the latest “Avengers: Doomsday” trailer, Doctor Doom gets his big screen moment. Robert Downey Jr.’s villainous portrayal is the spotlight in the film’s new version, bringing the actor back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time since Avengers: Endgame.

An incredible cast, ranging from stars of the original 2000s “X-Men” movies such as Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, also on the original Avengers cast list are Anthony Mackie, who played Captain America, Paul Rudd, who portrayed Ant-Man, along with Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell, and David Harbour, who took on roles in Thunderbolts, from Black Panther‘s Letitia Wright and Winston Duke to more recent MCU additions, such as Shang-Chi‘s Simu Liu and Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn.

The two-minute clip introduced by “Doomsday” leads Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America) and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter) — sees Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm/Invisible Woman warning a collection of Earth’s mightiest heroes about the danger of the Latverian villain in between cuts focused on Doom’s costume.

The clip then cuts to Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic confronting Doom amid a heap of rubble before Chris Hemsworth’s Thor promises Doom “will be begging for hell long before I grant it.”But before Thor can strike Doom with his axe Stormbreaker, as seen in the film’s first trailer, Doom blocks it before blasting the Norse god with a beam of green energy. Doom then raises a collection of Sentinels, the classic X-Men villains, before responding: “Hell answers to me, for I am Doom.”

Avengers: Doomsday is coming to theaters on December 18, and will lead into the events of Avengers: Secret Wars, set to premiere a year later on December 17, 2027.
