Tom Cruise and Warner Bros. Discovery have agreed to a nonexclusive partnership arrangement whereby the prolific actor/producer will be developing and producing–and starring in– new films for the studio. According to the terms of the deal, Cruise and his entourage will be setting up shop on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank.

The partnership was announced by several Warner bigwigs, including CEO David Zaslav and the CEO’s of the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy. The deal is not an exclusive one, which means that Cruise is still free to work on his Mission: Impossible project with Paramount, as well as a project with Universal that will see the actor become the first civilian to do a spacewalk outside the International Space Station.

In announcing the deal on Tuesday of this week, De Luca and Abdy expressed their enthusiasm for Cruise’s collaboration. They issued a statement that said: “We are thrilled to be working with Tom, an absolute legend in the film industry. Our vision, from day one, has been to rebuild this iconic studio to the heights of its glory days, and, in fact, when we first sat down with [Warner Bros. Discovery chief] David Zaslav to talk about joining the Warner Bros. Discovery team, he said to us, ‘We are on a mission to bring Warner Bros. back – we have the best resources, storytelling IP, and talent in the business – and we need to bring Tom Cruise back to Warner Bros!’”

Their joint statement continued: “Today, that becomes a reality and we are one step closer to achieving our ambition. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Tom back to Warner Bros. and look forward to bringing more of his genius to life on screen in the years ahead.”

Cruise last worked with Warner Brothers on their 2012 film Edge of Tomorrow. He’d also starred in seven other movies with the studio, including Magnolia, Eyes Wide Shut, and Interview with the Vampire. Over his decades as an actor/producer, Cruise’s films have generated more than $13 billion at the box office globally.

Responding to their enthusiastic welcome, Cruise said, “I have great respect and admiration for David, Pam, Mike, and the entire team at Warner Bros. Discovery and their commitment to movies, movie fans, and the theatrical experience. I look forward to making great movies together!”
