Shogun was honored with four awards, including best drama series. Anna Sawai received the title of best actress in a drama series, while Hiroyuki Sanada became the first Japanese actor to win the category. Frederick E.O. Toye won best directing for the show.

Hacks won the surprise Best Comedy Series award at the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards handed out on Sunday night. Nevertheless, the former did obtain four additional significant accomplishments, which included acting nominations for three of the show’s episodes.

Jeremy Allen White was recognized as the best lead actor in a comedy series, Liza Colón-Zayas received the best supporting actress award, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach was voted best supporting actor. Furthermore, Christopher Storer was recognized as the top director for a comedy series on the show. The Bear’s total 2024 Emmy wins set a new record for most wins in a single season for a comedy with 11, surpassing its own total of 10 from last year.
