Currently, negotiations are ongoing between Apple TV and Legendary Television for a third season of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” though significant alterations are being considered.

As per someone with knowledge of the situation, it was announced that Season 3 of the show would be led by a new showrunner and new writers, and would introduce new Titans from Legendary’s Monsterverse.

No mention has been made regarding whether characters from the first two seasons will continue into the third. Sources say that multiple individuals have been approached about potentially taking over showrunning the series.

The series commenced its original run on Apple TV in 2023 before the second season began airing in February 2026. The spinoff series, with Wyatt Russell portraying Col. Lee Shaw, remains in the planning stages. That show will follow Shaw on a 1984 mission as he attempts to prevent the Soviets from releasing a new devastating Titan.

Chris Black and Matt Faction originally created “Monarch,” with Black serving as showrunner and executive producer on Season 2. Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures are also executive producers on the show, with Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Lawrence Trilling, and Andrew Colville executive producing Season 2. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character.
