Universal has announced a new release date for “The Mummy 4“, the fourth entry in their Mummy franchise, which will be the highly anticipated sequel.
According to Deadline, the release date for “The Mummy 4” has been revised to October 15, 2027, which is almost a whole year earlier than the original planned release date. The film’s original release date was May 19, 2028, but it appears that it will now be used for something else.
According to Deadline, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, the two stars of the original franchise, will be returning to their roles. The pair had previously been in talks about returning to the franchise, but now it is official.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from Radio Silence will be the directors of “Mummy 4“. David Coggeshall and the pair worked together to write the film.
It should be noted that there are other mommy movies coming soon. Lee Cronin is working on his own mummy movie, which is produced by Jason Blum and James Wan and is set to premiere next spring at Warner Bros. The cast of that film includes Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, Verónica Falcón, and May Calamawy.
The Mummy Returns had all four returning members, including Fraser, Weisz, Hannah, and Arnold Vosloo, but only Fraser and Hannah were present for Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. he Mummy Returns had all four returning members, including Fraser, Weisz, Hannah, and Arnold Vosloo, but only Fraser and Hannah were present for Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
