A24 has given a sneak peek of the new biopic called “Tony,” which chronicles the life of legendary chef, commentator, documentarian, and author Anthony Bourdain.
Dominic Sessa, who starred in “The Holdovers” and “Now You See Me 3“, portrays a 19-year-old Bourdain in the film, which takes place in 1975 when he is employed at a local restaurant in Massachusetts.
Bourdain’s journey to Provincetown leads him to encounter the chaotic world of a restaurant kitchen, leading to a transformative summer that will shape the course of his life.
The film’s inspiration comes largely from his best-selling memoir ‘Kitchen Confidential’, which was published in 2000. Emilia Jones and Antonio Banderas also star in it.
The movie, directed by Matt Johnson, is an interpretation of Tony’s life, which he describes as a little unknown. At the age of 61, Bourdain passed away in 2018.
“Tony” will be released in cinemas in August.
