The Odyssey | Completely in IMAX Featurette | Shot Entirely With IMAX Film Cameras

Christopher Nolan said, “For a long time, I’ve dreamed of making an entire film in IMAX.” Now, that aspiration is realized. IMAX has unveiled a jaw-dropping 4-minute vision from Nolan’s “The Odyssey“, the first film to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. This promo reveals everything, delving fully into how Christopher Nolan shot the film using only IMAX cameras, from discussions about their volume, which necessitated the invention of the “blimp” to suppress the sound.

Of course, it’s essential to watch this movie in IMAX properly at least once. Nolan’s interpretation of Homer’s timeless Greek epic, The Odyssey, transforms the myth into a global action thriller, offering this foundational saga an even more grandiose presentation than before. The tale follows Odysseus through his perilous, extended voyage home from the Trojan War, where he meets Polyphemus, the Sirens, and Circe. Ultimately, he returns to Ithaca to be reunited with his wife, Penelope. The film sees Matt Damon as the leading character Odysseus.

With an array of actors like Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Charlize Theron, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, and many more. This promotion also includes cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema discussing the IMAX dream and their achievement, with some shots we haven’t seen before in other favorites. Approximately one month until its widespread release in theaters.
