Chris Rock is back in the director’s chair with his latest project, the Hollywood-focused film “Misty Green.”
The A24 film has dropped the trailer, the film revolves around an actress whose career has been stagnant for years since her breakout role, as she struggles to regain her prominence.
Rosalind Eleazar plays Misty Green in this cast which includes Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, and Rock. The trailer begins with Misty being evicted from her apartment by a woman who claims the residence is her husband’s.
“I’m broke,” Misty says early on. “It’s not just me; I’ve got my brother, played by Kaluuya.” Later, we see her meeting with Topher Grace’s executive, who comments on Misty’s prospects, saying, “It’s tough out there. I’m not sure if I can even get you a spot on Law & Order now.”
“Misty Green“, which was scripted by Rock, will debut at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival as its world premiere, with an October theatrical release planned.
Rock previously directed such features as “Head of State“ (2003), “I Think I Love My Wife“ (2007) and the well-received “Top Five“ (2014).
He has also recently starred in the movies “Rustin“, “Amsterdam“ and “Spiral: From the Book of Saw“ and on the FX series “Fargo“.
