Dan Stevens, who previously starred in “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” and “Eurovision Song Contest,” will take on the role of Alex Murphy/Robocop in the recently greenlit “Robocop” TV series produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
James Wan, the director of “The Conjuring” and “Aquaman,” is reportedly set to helm the crucial episodes of the series, which was first announced for development in 2023.
The series consists of eight episodes and was created by showrunner Peter Ocko (“Lodge 49“), along with executive producers Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett.

Ed Neumeier, who is also an executive producer, co-created and co-wrote Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 original film. The narrative kicks off with a major tech corporation teaming up with the local police force to implement a cutting-edge enforcer designed to tackle escalating crime— an officer with a human essence intertwined with advanced machinery.
This character is said to have been a soldier who passed away in battle before being resurrected as a cyborg and then starting a fresh life.
Verhoeven’s movie is considered a classic sci-fi action film, famous for its commentary on American capitalism, scenes of intense brutality, and memorable dialogue.
